Ship History
The ship was laid down in 1907 at the Baltic Shipyard of St. Petersburg as the Storm armored river gunboat . The ship was partially transported to the Far East , where it was assembled and launched in June 1909 in the village of Kokuy on the Shilka River .
On August 15, 1910, the ship became part of the Amur River Flotilla . April 24, 1922 "Storm" was renamed "Lenin". In 1927-1928, a major overhaul was carried out, and on November 6, 1928, the ship was reclassified to a monitor. In October-November 1929, the ship took an active part in the Sungarian operation of the Red Army (battles for Lahasusu 10/12/1929 and Fugdin 10/30/2/11/1929) against the White Chinese. In 1935, the monitor was modernized.
The monitor met the beginning of the Soviet-Japanese War as part of the 1st brigade of river ships in the Srednyaya channel near the mouth of the Sungari . The ship took part in the battles on the Sungari River, landed and supported with fire infantry assault forces in the vicinity of the villages of Tusyke , Honghedao , the cities of Fujin and Sanxing .
