Skeleton Olympic medalists list

This is a complete list of skeletonists who won medals at the Winter Olympics . The skeleton competitions were held in the framework of the seven Olympic Winter Games: 1928, 1948, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018. At the same time, only men competed in 1928 and 1948. A total of 12 sets of awards were played (7 among men and 5 among women). Most of the awards on the account of Americans (9) and British (8).

No athlete managed to win gold in the skeleton twice at the Olympic Games (4 athletes won two medals each, while only Russian Alexander Tretyakov won the gold among these four). Among women, only Elizabeth Yarnold won two gold medals.

American John Heaton (1908-1976) won silver at the Olympics in 1928 (lost only to his brother Jennison ) and managed to repeat his success 20 years later at the 1948 Games. He also has a bronze medal in his bobsleigh at the 1932 Olympic Games.
