Dougal Skrich was the son of Dougal , king of the Islands , and escort of his brother Duncan . All that is known about him is that the king of Norway, Haakon IV, considered him disloyal. What was the reason: the orientation towards Scotland or Dougal's participation in the struggle for power on Maine is hard to say. When in 1230 Haakon IV sent a large fleet to the Hebrides under the command of Uspac , who subjugated the islands and the western coast of Scotland, Dougal Skrich was captured by the Norwegians as a hostage. Nothing is known of his fate.
