History
The first mention of the Hvoshchensky volost (in the old days such a spelling prevailed) dates back to the beginning of the 17th century . [2] However, in the XVIII century this concept becomes historical and gradually goes out of use.
Foshnyansky volost was re-formed in connection with the introduction of volost division during the reform of 1861 ; by area it was one of the largest in the county, since over 80% of its territory was occupied by forests.
In the 1920s, the newly formed Zhukovskaya volost was allocated from the composition of the Foshnyansky volost.
During the enlargement of the volosts, on February 26, 1925, the Foshnyansky volost was abolished, and its territory was annexed to Zhukovsky volost .
Now the territory of the former Foshnyansky volost is divided between Zhukovsky , Dyatkovsky and Bryansk districts of the Bryansk region .
