History
Obtained in 1386, the city rights of Bre was one of the glorious cities of the Bishopric of Liege . Previously, the city was surrounded by a fortified wall and surrounded by a moat, which protected Bre from the Spanish attack in 1604 . Due to the numerous fires of the seventeenth century (in 1601 , 1616 , 1697 and 1699 ), buildings of an earlier period were not preserved.
