Jonathan Bryan Toews ( April 29, 1988 , Winnipeg , Canada ) is a professional Canadian hockey player , center forward and captain of the Chicago Blackhawks NHL team. He was selected by the Chicago Draft in 2006 in the first round under a common third number. Taves began his performances for Chicago in the 2007/2008 season and was nominated for Calder Trophy as the best rookie of the season; the next season he was appointed team captain, thus becoming one of the youngest captains of the NHL teams in its entire history.

Taves played for the Canadian national team at the 2006 and 2007 World Youth Championships , the 2007 World Championships, and the 2010 Winter Olympics , where he was named the tournament's best forward and became Olympic champion . After 4 years, Teyvs scored the winning goal in the finals against the Swedes at the 2014 Olympics and thereby helped Canadians defend the title.
Taves won the Stanley Cup three times at the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010 , 2013 and 2015 . He entered the Triple Golden Club on June 9, 2010. One of the most titled Canadian hockey players in hockey history.

NHL Career
Taves, being selected by Chicago at number three in the 2006 NHL Draft, signed a three-year contract with Blackhawks on May 16, 2007 . [3] Jonathan scored his first goal in the NHL on October 10, 2007 in a match against San Jose Sharks . During the 2007/2008 season, Taves and his teammate Patrick Kane fought for leadership in the club and the title of best among newcomers in the number of goals scored. At the end of the season, Taves, Kane, and central Washington Capitals forward Niklas Backstrom were nominated for Calder Trophy, who was eventually awarded to Kane.
During his debut season in December 2007 , Teyves was named the alternative captain of the “ hawks ” [4] , and on July 18, 2008, at the age of 20 and 79 days, he was appointed team captain [5] . In the history of the NHL at a younger age, only Connor McDevid ( Edmonton Oilers ), Sidney Crosby ( Pittsburgh Penguins ) and Vincent Lecavalier ( Tampa Bay Lightning ) became captains of their teams. The following season, Jonathan joined the West at the NHL All-Star Game [6] . On February 27, 2009 , Taves made his first hat-trick in the NHL, sending three goals against the Pittsburgh Penguins. [7] In total, in the regular season 2008/2009, Taves scored 69 points in 82 games. As part of the 2009 Stanley Cup, Jonathan scored 13 points in 17 games, with Chicago reaching the finals of the Western Conference in which the Hawks lost five Detroit Red Wings in five games.
In December 2009 , Jonathan Taves signed with Chicago Blackhawks a five-year contract worth $ 6.3 million per season [8] . May 7, 2010 Taves in the match against Vancouver Canucks made his second hat-trick for a career in the NHL, giving also two assists [9] . On June 9, 2010, Jonathan won the Stanley Cup with Chicago, defeating the Philadelphia Flyers in 6 matches. In the history of the NHL at a younger age, only Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh Penguins, 2009 ) led his team to victory in the Stanley Cup as captain. Taves scored 29 points in 22 playoff matches and received Conn Smythe Trophy . After 3 years, he again raised the Stanley Cup over his head.
In the summer of 2014, he signed with Chicago a contract worth $ 84 million for 8 years, which entered into force starting from the 2015/16 season. [ten]
International Career
Taves was the youngest player in Canada at the 2006 World Youth Championships. At the tournament, Jonathan scored two assists, and Canadians became champions, defeating the Russian team in the final with a score of 5: 0. In 2007, Taves won his second youth world championship. In the semifinals against the US national team, Jonathan scored three scoring shots in the shoot-out series, leading his team to the final. In total, during the tournament, Teyves scored 7 points and entered the symbolic team of the tournament together with his teammate goalkeeper Carey Price .
In 2007, Teyves made his debut at an adult level, taking part in the World Cup in Moscow , gaining 7 points in 9 matches. The Canadian national team won gold medals, defeating Finland in the final with a score of 4: 2. In 2008, Jonathan was a member of his team, which took second place at the World Championships in Quebec and Halifax , losing in the final to the Russian team (4: 5 OT ).
On December 30, 2009, Canadian team general manager Steve Aiserman challenged Taves and his partners Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith to the maple leaves to participate in the 2010 Olympics . At the Olympic tournament, Jonathan scored 8 points in 7 matches, scored an abandoned goal in the final against the US team , and was also named the best striker of the tournament. The Canadian team won gold medals, and Taves, thus, became the Olympic champion. After 4 years at the Games in Sochi, Taves became a two-time Olympic champion, scoring a winning puck in the final game against Sweden (3: 0).
