Turczyansk-Teplice [2] (formerly Turcansk-Teplice [3] ) ( Slovak. Turčianske Teplice , before 1948 Slovak. Štubnianske Teplice , Russian. Stubnyanske-Teplice , German Bad Stuben , Hung. Stubnyafürdő ) is a city in western Slovakia under the foot of Big Fatra on the river Turiec . The population is about 7 thousand people.

History
Turčianske Teplice is one of the oldest resort cities not only in Slovakia , but also in Europe . Mentioned for the first time in 1281 . In 1502 , the first "resort house" was built. In 1533 , Turchianske Teplice began to belong to the city of Kremnica . Then the arrangement of medical sources in Turchianske-Teplice began, but the mass construction of sanatoriums began in the XIX century . Turchyansk-Teplitsky sanatoria specialize in the treatment of kidney and urinary system diseases .
