Gimaev, Ragib Nasretdinovich

Born in the village of Ibraevo, Kiginsky district, Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . By nationality - Bashkir.

He graduated from the Ufa Petroleum Institute in 1958 , until 1963 he worked at the Novo-Ufa Petroleum Refinery , then since 1976 he was head of the Department of Oil and Gas Technology, Dean of the Faculty of Technology of the Ufa Petroleum Institute . From 1981 to 1999 - rector, at the same time head of the department of analytical chemistry and general chemical technology at Bashkir State University .

Ragib Gimaev is considered a world-renowned specialist in the field of chemical processing of oil and gas, the creator of a scientific school for the production of carbon materials based on oil raw materials. His scientific works are devoted to the study of phase transitions in disperse oil systems, the liquid crystalline state of highly aromatized components of oil products, the theory of thermal cracking of oil residues, the technology of obtaining new materials from oil raw materials - needle coke, oil pitch, carbon fibers, sorbents and others. Scientists justified the use of acoustic vibrations in the physicochemical processes of oil refining and petrochemicals, and established the formation of liquid crystals during heat treatment of oil products. The technologies proposed by the scientist were used at Soda OJSC, Ufa refineries and a number of enterprises in Russia and the former USSR.

He is the co-author of more than 150 inventions, 300 scientific works and many monographs published in Moscow, Ufa and Kazan. Among his students are dozens of candidates and doctors of technical sciences.

He was elected as a deputy of the State Duma of the third convocation from the Birsk single-mandate constituency No. 3, was a member of the deputy group " Regions of Russia ", a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic of the tenth and eleventh convocation from Institute constituency No. 52 of the Ordzhonikidze district of Ufa and from the Soviet constituency No. 24, Kirovsky Ufa region, respectively.
