The administrative center is the village of Molodovoe .
The parish was formed during the 1861 reform. A significant part of the volost was occupied by the forest massif (to the north of the volost center).
In the 1880s , the Molodovskaya volost was abolished, and its territory entered the newly-formed Shablykino volost .
Nowadays, the entire territory of the former Molodovsky volost is part of the Shablykinsky district of the Oryol region .
