Yerkin Karagalpakstan ( Free Karakalpakstan ) is a socio-political newspaper of Karakalpakstan ( Uzbekistan ), published in Karakalpak language. It is the oldest [1] and most popular newspaper in this language.

Published since November 1924. It was originally called ٴيركين قاراقالپا ((Free Karakalpak), in 1929 it was renamed to Mijnetkeş qaraqalpaq (Labor Karakalpak), in 1932 it received the name "Qьzl Qaraqalpaƣastan" / "қылкалка Қ қ 1950 1950 1950 1950 1950 1950 (1950) called the “Council of Karagalpakstan” (Soviet Karakalpakstan). Since the beginning of the 1990s, the newspaper has been called "Erkin Karagalpakstan."
In 1975 it came out 5 times a week with a circulation of 66 thousand copies [2] . Currently (August 2007) comes out 3 times a week with a circulation of 2.7 thousand copies [1] . Distributed mainly by subscription.
In 1968 she was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor .
