Club career

Grigory Meliksetyan is a pupil of the Pyunik football school. Already in 2008, he was the main guard at the gates of the Yerevan club. Meliksetyan began playing in the camp of the champions of Armenia since 2007. After the 2008 season, became the most reliable goalkeeper [2] . Throughout the championship of 2009, he played consistently, rarely when Pyunik's head coach - Vardan Minasyan used the services of the second goalkeeper Edward Hovhannisyan . However, in the end of the season, Oganesyan began to show an adult game and more reliably stand at the gate. Thus, Meliksetyan had to give up post number one to his colleague in the club and his opponent for a place in the base. [3]

The role of understudy Meliksetyan did not take root and in early 2010, he began to look for a new club. Meliksetyan was waiting for the Iranian club " Damash ", with which the player intended to conclude a contract. But due to discrepancies in the conditions of the transition did not take place. [3] However, in order not to lose physical shape, Meliksetyan conducted training sessions in the diligence “ Impulse ”. [4] At the time of training, close ties affected the future location in the professional life of a football player and in February a contract was signed with “Impulse”, which at the beginning of the year already acquired two highly skilled goalkeepers - Felix Hakobyan and Mais Azizyan . [3] [5] The first official match in the “Impulse” was held on March 23, 2010 in the Armenian Cup against Pyunik , in which the team lost with a minimum score of 0: 1. [6] In view of the high competition in Impuls, he was forced to look for a new club.

As a result, the summer transfer window moved to the Kapan " Gandzasar ". Without playing a match, he left for Iran, where he signed a contract with the club " Mes ". The next season began in another Iranian group " Paykan " [7] .

In 2013, he returned to Armenia and played for “ Ararat ”. Since July 2014 in “Gandzasar” (Kapan).

Career in the national team

He played in the youth team of Armenia, played for her 7 matches.

In January 2012, Meliksetyan was invited to the Armenian national team to participate in the February friendly matches in Cyprus. On February 28 he made his debut for the Armenian national team in a match against the Serbian national team . The first match for Meliksetyan was lumpy, as the game ended with the defeat of the Armenian team 0: 2. In the first case, the ball flew into the goal after beating Meliksetyan. In the second, after a rival strike, Meliksetyan did not fix the ball in his hands [8] .
