In 318–331 he served as prefect of the praetoria of Italy . In 331, he was appointed consul, along with Flavius Ablabius .
May have been a Christian . Bass built a basilica on Esquiline Hill (the so-called Basil of Junius Bass ), Which preserved his image. His son, Junius Bass , was subsequently the prefect of the city of Rome .
