PlayStation Eye is a digital camera developed by Sony Computer Entertainment specifically for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 game console. The camera is the successor to EyeToy for the PlayStation 2 .

The camera first hit the market in a bundle along with The Eye of Judgment in the United States on October 23, 2007 , [1] in Japan and Australia on October 25, 2007 [2] [3], and in Europe on October 26, 2007 . [4] [5]
In the USA, [6] Europe [4] and Australia [7], the camera also entered the market as an independent product.

The camera can be connected to a computer via USB and used as a webcam / microphone . This requires an additional utility.
