Description
“The flag of the Moksha region is a rectangular panel with a ratio of width to length 2: 3, consisting of two equal horizontal stripes: red and green and bearing in the middle the figure of the coat of arms of the region: two crossed berdysh and a rose in white and yellow in the middle between them.”
Justification of Symbols
The history of the Mokshan region begins with the foundation in 1679 of the Mokshan fortress. Mokshan (Mokshansk) at the end of the XVII - beginning of the XVIII century was a small but reliable fortress, which is part of the Penza serif line , which protected the borders of Russia from invasions of nomads. In 1780, Mokshan became the county town of Penza governorship . The flag of modern Moksha region is based on the historical coat of arms of the city of Mokshan, which was highly approved on May 28 ( June 8 ), 1781 . The original description of the historical coat of arms reads:
In the 1st part of the shield, the coat of arms of Penza. In the 2nd part, in the red field, two berdyshs, ancient military weapons, the sign that the inhabitants of this city are old service people.
The basis of the economy of the Moksha region is a developed agricultural complex, the main branches of which are crop production and animal husbandry. On the flag it is reflected in green - a symbol of nature, life growth, health and ecology.
Rose is a symbol of rebirth, prosperity, knowledge and perfection.
Yellow color (gold) is a symbol of wealth, stability, harvest, respect and intelligence.
White color (silver) is a symbol of purity, perfection, peace and mutual understanding.
Red color is a symbol of courage, strength, industriousness, beauty and celebration.
