Vulcanal was considered one of the oldest sacred buildings in the city, according to Pliny [1] , it was founded by Romulus himself, and the altar was erected by Tit Tatius [2] . The sanctuary was located on several levels from the foot of the Capitol to the forum square and was a meeting place. The temple of the Volcano from the III century BC. e., as a deity associated with fire and fire, was outside the boundaries, on the Champ de Mars [3] .
