He was the son of Gaius Zeoyonia Rufius Volusian , consul of 311 years. His son, perhaps, was Guy Zeyoniy Rufiy Volusian Lampadiy , 365 year old praefectus urbi , and his grandson was Zeyoniy Rufiy Albin , the prefect of the city in 389–391.
In 335, he was made consul along with the brother of the emperor Constantine I , Julius Constantius . From December 30, 335 to 337, according to the Chronography of 354, he held the position of Prefect of Rome. In the sources he is referred to as a philosopher (perhaps it should be identified with the philosopher Albin ). For his services, by order of the Senate , a statue was placed on him.
