Vincenzo Camuccini ( Italian: Vincenzo Camuccini ; February 22, 1771 , Rome , September 2, 1844 , ibid.) - Italian painter, graphic artist, neoclassicist . He was considered the main academic artist of his time in Rome.

Camuccini was born in Rome in 1771, studied with Domenico Corvi and his brother Pietro , a restorer of paintings. He experienced the influence of A.R. Mengs [1] .
Until almost 30 years, he devoted himself mainly to copying the old masters.
Sacrificio di Noè completed his first painting at the age of 14.
In 1802 he became a member of the Roman Academy of St. Luke ( Italian: Accademia nazionale di San Luca ). In 1803, Pope Pius VII was appointed director of the mosaic workshop at St. Peter's Basilica . In 1814 he became superintendent of papal palaces in the Vatican [1] .
