Born on March 26, 1938 in the village of Chemer, Chernihiv region . In 1961 he graduated from the Kharkov Theater Institute (course of the People’s Artist of the USSR Ivan Maryanenko ) [3] .

From 1961 , by distribution, - actor of the Zaporizhia Music and Drama Theater named after Shchors , in 1963 - 1964 - Donetsk Regional Russian Drama Theater ( Mariupol city).

C 1964 - at the Leningrad Lensovet Theater , where he was invited by Igor Vladimirov [4] .

From 1977 - actor of the Moscow Drama Theater on Malaya Bronnaya , from 1978 - Moscow Art Theater , in 1982 - 1986 he worked with Anatoly Vasilyev (performance "Serso"), in 1991 - 1992 - in the " School of modern plays ".

Since 1991 - actor of the Gorky Film Studio .

Since July 26, 2010 - Member of the Patriarchal Council for Culture ( Russian Orthodox Church ) [5] . He was a member of the board of the “Slavic Creative Union" Golden Knight "" [6] .

He died on February 22, 2017, at the age of 79, in Moscow [7] [8] .

The farewell took place at the Central House of Cinema on February 27, 2017 . On the same day, A. Petrenko was buried at Nikolsky cemetery in Balashikha [9] [10] .

Family

He was married three times.

The first wife (1960-1979) - Alla Petrenko, singer [11] . Daughter Pauline (b. 1962 , widow of actor Alexei Poluyan ). Granddaughter Anastasia (b. 1992) [12] - live in Germany .

The second wife is Galina Petrovna Kozhukhova-Petrenko (1933–2009), a journalist, and in the past the Pravda theater commentator, [13] . Pasynok - journalist and TV host Mikhail Kozhukhov .

Third wife (since 2010) - Azima Rasulovna Abduminova, a journalist, director of documentary films. Daughter Melania. Stepdaughter Zarifa. Pasynok Yusupdzhan, now a taekwondo coach [14] .
