Historical background
In 1973, on the basis of the departments of the Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering and the Scientific-Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering Technology, the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated May 22, 1973 No. 955rs established the Organization Agat. She was a member of the USSR Ministry of General Engineering .
The main tasks of the organization "Agat" were:
- system studies of economic problems associated with the peculiarities of development, development and production of rocket and space technology;
- solving economic issues in the development and implementation of programs in the field of space exploration and use;
- feasibility study of space programs;
- assessment of the feasibility of scientific and technical achievements in the field of rocket and space technology in the national economy;
- making socio-economic forecasts for the development of the rocket and space industry;
- independent economic expertise of rocket and space projects;
- development of annual thematic plans for enterprises in the industry.
In 1991, the organization "Agat" became an independent state-owned enterprise.
In 1992, the organization Agat was transferred to the Russian Space Agency and then to the Rosaviakosmos and Roscosmos, respectively.
Currently, the organization consists of research centers, independent departments and divisions of management services. Participates in national and international space programs.
