Kralevský-Hlmec [1] ( Slovakian. Kráľovský Chlmec , Hung. Királyhelmec ) is a city in eastern Slovakia near the border with Ukraine . The population is about 8 thousand people.

Content
History
Kralewski-Khlmec was first mentioned in 1214 . In the XIV century, the nobleman Peter Perenyi built Chonkavar castle here . Kralewski Halmec lies in the Tokay region and was famous for its wines. In the 17th century, the city was devastated by the Kurucians . In the 19th century, Kralewski-Hlmec became the administrative center and grew rapidly. In 1960 , the Kralyovohltzmetsky District was liquidated and now the city is part of the Trebishov District.
