Biography
Initially, E. Fabry was a student in the atelier of the artist J.-F. Portel . He was under the creative influence of painting by Michelangelo , Ingres , Puvis de Chavannes .
E. Fabri is known primarily as the author of canvases of allegorical, sometimes frightening content. In 1892, together with artists Jean Delville and Xavier Mellery , he created the “Circle of Pure Art” group. In 1893 and in 1895, Fabry exhibited his works at the Paris Salon Rose + Cross . Since 1900, he has been teaching at the Brussels Art Academy. He carried out numerous orders for fresco painting in state, public and private buildings (among other things - in the Theater La Monnet , the town hall of Saint-Gilles , Woluwe-Saint-Pierre , Laquin , etc.).
