Leaf fleas , or grass fleas [1] ( lat. Psyllidae ) - a family of small insects from the order Hemiptera . It numbers about 1100 species, united in 59 genera [2] . In Europe - about 200 species.

DescriptionAbout 1-5 mm in length. Outwardly similar to cicadas . Some of them harm garden crops. They feed on plant juices, most of which are not absorbed and excreted along with sugars. Therefore, leaf flies, like aphids , are often visited by ants . Harm crop plants.
Classification59 genera and 1100 species (including about 460 species of the largest genus Cacopsylla ) [2] .
