Biography
Born in Moscow . Parents - Nina Nikolaevna and Boris Markovich, engineers-economists. In 1960 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages . By his own admission, he began to translate from the age of 13. Translates from German, French, English, Italian and Spanish. He considers German culture to be the closest to him, which in particular is expressed not only in translations, but also in original poetic texts written in German. He taught at the Literary Institute , the Institute of Journalism and Literary Creativity , and lectured at the Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute , the Moscow Architectural Institute, and other universities. He leads a poetic translation studio at the Institute of Journalism and Literary Creativity, regularly meets with readers in Moscow museums and libraries. He considers monarchy to be the best form of political government for Russia, which does not abolish the elements of natural Russian anarchism and the “walking-field” He has repeatedly spoken about the falsity of modern literary life in Russia, considers the adopted system of litpremii an instrument of ideological and family support for "his own". Creativity Mikushevich absorbed the aesthetics of the Silver Age (Bely, Voloshin, Vyach. Ivanov), the French pores “Bel Epoque”, the Germans Stefan George and Rilke, the national spiritual verse and poetry of Russian scholarly monasticism (Simeon Polotsky). Credo Mikushevich can be expressed in the words of Eliot "repair of old ships."
