Construction

Ordered under the shipbuilding program "For the needs of the Far East." On January 23, 1899, he was added to the lists of ships of the Russian Navy ; on March 29, 1899, he was laid down at the shipyard of the Schihau company in Elbing , launched on August 12, 1899, and entered service on August 31, 1900. After the tests, he went to Kronstadt , where he arrived in July 1902, going on the way to Helsingfors .

Service

From October 31, 1900 to May 6, 1901 he made the transition from Kronstadt to Port Arthur , where he became part of the First destroyer detachment of the First Pacific Squadron [1] . March 9, 1902 was renamed "Fearless."

With the outbreak of the Russo-Japanese War , Fearless took an active part in the hostilities, serving as a guard on an external roadstead and on reconnaissance campaigns. On the first night of the war, the destroyer, together with the " Quick ", was on patrol at Port Arthur , but failed to locate Japanese ships. During the first month of the war, the destroyer went to sea with various combat missions 8 times [1] . On February 13, “Fearless” managed to break out from Jingzhou Bay into Port Arthur under enemy fire.

February 26, 1904 "Fearless" took part in the battle of the destroyers at Port Arthur; in this battle, four Japanese destroyers opposed the four destroyers of the Russian detachment (Fearless, Ruthless , Silent , Impressive ). After the enemy’s ships were discovered, the Fearless followed the flagship destroyer at 3 hours and 45 minutes and opened fire on them, choosing the closing Akatsuki destroyer as their target. Russian shells damaged the car on the Japanese "fighter" and killed the main steam line, which led to the loss of the Akatsuki course [1] . After a lively shootout, the opponents lost each other in the dark. During the battle, “Fearless” was not injured [2] .

In May and June, Fearless actively participated in supporting the Russian troops at Jinzhou. During this time, the destroyer as part of the detachment took part in several short-term clashes with Japanese ships. During the battle in the Yellow Sea, he managed to break through the blockade and escape from the pursuing Japanese ships in Qingdao . On August 2, Fearless was disarmed and interned by the Chinese government [1] [2] .

February 4, 1905 "Fearless" became part of the Siberian Flotilla . In 1912-1913 a major overhaul was carried out with re-equipment. In addition, a second mast for the wireless antenna was installed.

In 1917 he made the transition from Vladivostok to the Barents Sea , where he arrived on September 10, 1917 and became part of the Flotilla of the Arctic Ocean [1] . On November 8 of the same year, it became part of the RKKF , in March 1918 it was captured by interventionists in Murmansk. I did not go to sea due to a malfunctioning condition. After returning to the RKKF, it underwent a major overhaul, and on June 24, 1924 it was removed from the lists of the fleet with the transfer of the "State Funds" for implementation.
