The street appeared with the foundation of the Archangel Michael Monastery . It connected the first two city centers. For most of its existence, until 1804 , it was out of town. Until the XIX century, the street was divided into two parts by the Archangel Gate of the Bolshoi Ostrog and only a third of it was within the city limits.
In 1772, 2 large fires occurred in Veliky Ustyug , as a result of which the entire suburb burnt out. After these fires, new versions of the city plan were created, which radically changed the city. Arkhangelsk street was the only one that was not displaced.
The table is in the North-South direction. Intersecting streets are highlighted in yellow.
The street is located in the security zone of Great Ustyug.
