Hyundai Tucson ( Tyson [1] ) - a compact crossover of the Korean company Hyundai . It is named for the city of Tucson in Arizona.

Tucson was first introduced in 2004. The car shares its platform with the Hyundai Elantra and Kia Sportage . In 2010, it was discontinued (in Ukraine it continues to be produced in the city of Cherkasy). Tucson received the Canadian Car of the Year Award in 2005.
2006 Changes: Automatic climate control and high performance sound system. 2007 Changes: Changes to the style of all Hyundai vehicles. Changes in 2009: Minor changes, and the end of sales (except Ukraine).
The hydrogen fuel cell version is called FCEV, introduced in 2005 and produced until 2008. Max. speed: 150 km / h.

The second generation was introduced in 2009, but in most markets the name of the model was replaced by ix35. The car received more powerful and economical engines, an improved security system, dimensions .
The Hyundai ix35 is the successor to the first generation Hyundai Tucson model. The car was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 3, 2009 [3] .
The car is built on the same platform with the third-generation Kia Sportage . Since January 2010, the car in Europe has been produced by the Kia Motors Slovakia plant [4] , and since July 2011 - also by the Hyundai plant in Nosovice ( Czech Republic ) [5]
Based on the car, the Chinese company JAC Motors created the JAC S5 model.
The ix35 heir called the third-generation Hyundai Tucson debuted at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. [6]
2013 Restyling
2013 models have new front optics, bi-xenon with daytime running light diodes, and rear optics have also changed. The rims have changed. New equipment has appeared - a system for changing the degree of effort on the Flex Steer steering wheel, heated steering wheel, front parking lights and a virtual dashboard with a diagonal of 4.2 inches.
The ix 35 received a new gasoline engine 2.0 with direct fuel injection (for Russia - distributed injection). A five-speed "mechanics" or a six-speed "automatic" is installed in pair with the engine. The diesel version has also changed; he received an upgraded exhaust gas recirculation system.

The American Institute of Insurance and Road Safety ( The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety ) awarded the Hyundai ix35 the highest award "TOP SAFETY PICK" [8] .
On the Russian market
April 30, 2010 Hyundai Motor CIS LLC announced the launch of crossover sales in Russia. In our market, two-liter gasoline (150 hp) and diesel (184 hp) engines are available, basic gearboxes are 5-speed manual transmissions , 6-speed automatic transmissions are available as an option.
Since November 2013, an updated version of the Hyundai ix35 (facelift) has been supplied including bi-xenon headlights with LED lights and a modified upper part of the radiator grill. Changes to the suspension settings of this vehicle

On March 3, 2015, the third generation of the model was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. The company abandoned the ix35 name in most markets, returning its former name to Tucson [9] . Car sales in Russia began in November 2015 [10] . At the same time, the name ix35 was retained exclusively for the Chinese market, where in November 2017 a new generation was introduced, based on the ix35 model of 2010 [11] . In parallel, on August 31, 2018, the larger “global” Tucson was introduced, but with a modified design and a set of units, especially for the Chinese market [12] .
In April 2019, it became known that the company was working on an updated version of the crossover, a new generation of this model was announced by the senior vice president and head of Hyundai Global Design Center Sanyup Lee, the debut date is not yet known.
