Rules Changes
Technical
After the debut of the new aerodynamic package in the 2008 season, the Dallara chassis underwent "minor changes inspired by the 2009 Formula 1 regulation ." [one]
Sports
A number of changes were made in sports regulations in order to reduce costs and better reveal the talent of pilots [2] :
- Test sessions on Thursday canceled and replaced by two hours on Friday.
- The length of each race is extended to 44 minutes + one lap.
- The pilot who completed the most overtaking receives a bonus point.
Also in the middle of the season (after the stage at the Hungaroring ) the championship leader got the opportunity to conduct tests of a Formula 1 car - Renault R28 . After the seventh race of the season, Marcos Martinez and Bertrand Baguette shared the first line, but thanks to more victories, Martinez got the prize at the next stage in Silverstone . [3]
As well as in previous years, the champion received a test day for the Renault F1 Team at the end of the season. [4] Baguette won his title in the penultimate stage at the Nurburgring and spent the day of tests in December.
