Diamond trail

Background: at the Scientific Council, Professor Shestakov makes a scientific report on the alleged occurrence of diamond kimberlite pipes in completely inaccessible areas of Siberia. The validity of the hypothesis can only be confirmed by a really discovered diamond tube. According to the scientist, the geological similarity of Central Siberia and South Africa indicates a successful outcome of the expedition.

Members of the expedition: Professor Pavel Illarionovich Shestakov - who gave all his strength, proving that there are diamonds in Yakutia and led several geological expeditions to the area of ​​their alleged location.

Dmitry Vladimirovich Borovsky is the son of academician Borovsky, whose student was Shestakov. A long-time associate of the professor, convinced of his rightness.

Nadezhda Petrovna Tsvetkova - 30 years old, senior geologist, Shestakov’s favorite student. Her husband studied at the same course with Borovsky, but died on the expedition, while still a student.

Vera Lesun - collector, 3rd year student. She is in love with Dmitry and persistently seeks participation in the expedition.

Fedor is an experienced taiga worker, a prospector, a former circus artist. An adventurer who has found diamonds in the past and uses the expedition for mercenary purposes.

Leonid is a young man hoping to gain the experience necessary for entering the geological college on the expedition.

The first series . The arrival of authoritative German geophysicist Professor von Heyden and his support for the speech of Pavel Illarionovich made it possible to obtain permission from the Scientific Council to organize searches for Siberian diamonds.

The beginning of a long journey. First difficulties. Faith makes it clear to Dmitry that it was no coincidence that she was on this expedition. Romantic girl in love with her older friend. Professor Shestakov is dying, Borovsky is determined to continue the path, the rest support him.

The second series . In the forest, they found the remains of members of the previous expedition Shestakov bullied by a bear. Horses fall one by one. Before a difficult crossing, they decided to split into two groups. Borovsky shows Tsvetkova the dying letter of the professor, which says that she is assigned the duties of party leader.

During the crossing, the rope burst, Fedor saves Tsvetkova’s life and admits that she knows the place where there are diamonds. He offers to go there together, after a quarrel arose, leaves the camp. The group of Borovsky was attacked by wolves, they are saved by the Mayan Yakutian who suddenly appeared from the thicket.

The third series . Borovsky’s group came to Tsvetkova’s camp and, together with Nadezhda Petrovna, they leave for the taiga village where Maya’s relatives live. Borovsky takes seriously the story of the sun stone told by the old hunter. On the banks of the nearest river, geologists take rock samples.

Borovsky in the taiga met Fedor, who repeated his proposal for a joint search for diamonds. After the skirmish that followed, Fedor throws Dmitry to the mercy of fate. After some time, Borovsky found Nadezhda, who went on his wanted list.

The fourth series . Forest fire follows the trail of geologists. Dmitry is getting worse, Nadezhda is trying her best to help him continue his journey. In delirium, Borovsky increasingly mentions the yellow earth from an old legend. The hunting hut found in the forest allowed to rest and gain strength.

Not far from their hut Dmitry found a small scattering of pyropes, giving hope that there is kimberlite somewhere nearby.

A bear wounded by Fedor’s bullet attacked the hut, and Maya again came to the rescue.

Fifth series . With tripled efforts, the expedition set about developing the area. An alarming telegram comes from the authorities. According to forecasts, an early winter is expected. They were ordered to immediately turn off searches and return to base.

Borovsky feels that he is on the verge of discovery and insists on continuing the search. Hope is forced to take the expedition to the winter. Dmitry marries Vera, and they remain in the camp.

Borovsky rises up the river and finds traces of blasting carried out by Fedor, who himself, inadvertently, was blown up by ammonite. At the next transition, Vera dies. Dmitry before the onset of cold weather returns to Leningrad. He believes that there are no diamonds in Yakutia.

Hope, who managed to complete the analysis of the extracted samples, has a different opinion. She leads a new expedition, confident in its successful completion.
