Kyotrophin

Kyotrophin (L-tyrosyl-L-arginine) is a neuroactive dipeptide involved in the regulation of brain pain. It was first isolated in the bovine brain by Japanese scientists in 1979 [1] . Kyotrophin was named after the place of its discovery - Kyoto, and because in its analgesic effect it resembled morphine . Kyotrophin has an analgesic effect, but it does not affect opioid receptors. Its action is based on the secretion of endorphin and its protection from decay. It also has the properties of a neurotransmitter / neuromodulator . Kyotrophin has been shown to be found in human cerebrospinal fluid , and in patients suffering from constant pain, its content is lower [2] .
