Biography

Born in 1770 in Cherkassk , the son of Major General of the Don Cossack Army Ivan Rodionov. He was enlisted in military service on January 1, 1782 in the Don military rule, came into operation on April 2, 1786 and was enlisted as a centurion in his father's regiment.

In 1787-1892, Rodionov took part in the war with the Turks and in 1788 he received the rank of Yesaul for distinction near Ochakov . In 1789, he fought under the Causeni and Bender , was wounded by a bullet in the head. In 1790, he was among the troops assigned to storm Ishmael , and for successful actions was carried out in second-majors .

Subsequently, he received the command of the regiment of his name and in the Polish campaign of 1794 against the rebels, Kosciuszko fought under the walls of Prague, for the difference he was promoted to prime minister .

March 18, 1798 received the rank of colonel . In 1801-1802, Rodionov was on the Don , where he held the position of the present rank in the police department. At this time, he became the founder of the settlement of Rodionovo-Nesvetaysky Rostov Region. The name comes from the surname and the present Sukhoi Nesvetay River. Since 1803, he was with the regiment on the Austrian and Polish borders, where he performed cordon service.

Since the beginning of the Patriotic War of 1812, Rodionov with the regiment was moved to join the army and became part of the 1st Corps. His first distinction was the battle on August 22 during the defense of the Dries camp, then he fought near the tenants and at Goropatka, where he suddenly captured a considerable supply of French supplies and many prisoners; for this case he received the rank of major general on October 31 (with seniority on September 8). In the battle near Polotsk, Rodionov was shell-shocked by a core in the head, but he did not leave the system and in November acted on the enemy’s communications, distinguishing himself in the battle at Smolyan , at Borisov and at Stuyanka when the French crossed the Berezina ; in the last case, he managed to capture 4 guns and more than a thousand prisoners.

Upon the expulsion of Napoleon from the borders of Russia, Rodionov continued his combat activities abroad; February 10, 1813 he defeated the Italian infantry regiment in the vicinity of Danzig , for which July 11, 1813 was awarded the Order of St. George 4th degree (No. 2593 according to the cavalier list of Grigorovich - Stepanov)

On July 31, 1813, Rodionov was awarded the Order of St. for the difference in the campaign of 1812. George 3rd degree (No. 310 according to the list of gentlemen )

 In retribution of the excellent courage and courage shown in the battles against the French troops on November 15 and 16, 1812 at Borisov and Stuyanka. 

Rodionov also took part in the battles of Bauzen , Dresden , Wittenberg , was at the capture of Berlin and the blockade of Magdeburg . In the campaign of 1814, he fought in Holstein and Hanover .

Upon returning to Russia, Rodionov left military service and since 1816 was an indispensable member of the office of the Don Army .

Among other awards, the Rodion had the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky , St. Anna of the 1st degree with the imperial crown and St. Vladimir of the 2nd degree.

He died in the fall of 1826, was excluded from the track record on November 9.
