Edouard Dapple ( FR. Edouard Dapples ; December 12, 1807 , Lausanne , Switzerland - April 30, 1887 , Nice , France ) - Swiss liberal politician.
Biography
In the years 1825 - 1831 , Dapple studied theology and philosophy at the University of Lausanne, but did not graduate. Then he studied forestry in Bayreuth . In 1833-1840 he was a district forester in Cote, in 1840-1842 in Lausanne, and in 1848-1851 a forest inspector.
In 1834 - 1842 and 1848 - 1857, Dapple was elected to the city council of Lausanne, in 1843 - 1848 and 1857 - 1867 he was mayor of Lausanne. The following year he was elected to the Great Council of Vaud (cantonal parliament) and sat in it until 1868 , with a short break. In 1851 - 1854 and 1857 - 1866 he was a member of the National Council , and in 1860 he chaired it.
In 1860 he was sent as ambassador to Berlin and St. Petersburg .
Daple's first wife, Hilda d'Obert (1812–1837), was the illegitimate daughter of Grand Duchess Anna Fedorovna and Rudolf Abraham de Sliferly. The second wife (since 1840) was Marie Susan Elizabeth Courcheau.
In Lausanne, Dapple was very popular and made a significant contribution to the development of the city. His name is Avenue Edouard-Dapples .
