Champion of Russia 2009 in 30 km duathlon. The winner of the stage in Cavalese 11 km free style on the Tour de Ski 2007 . Winner of the 2006β2007 World Cup in Davos in the relay. Bronze medalist of the World Cup stage 2009-2010 in Rybinsk , 30 km duathlon.
Doping Scandal
On March 4, 2007, the International Federation of Ski Sports issued an official statement that the doping test βAβ, taken from Sergey Shiryaev on February 21 during the World Championship in Sapporo under the program of out-of-competition control, gave a positive result for erythropoietin . Sample "B" confirmed the presence of a prohibited substance in the blood. The disqualification lasted 2 years and ended on March 4, 2009. The Federation of ski races of Russia conducted its own investigation, as a result of which coaches Shiryaeva Anatoly Chepalov and Alexander Bazaichenko were barred from working with the national team for 2 and 4 years respectively.
