It is located at 1295.4 km from the Moscow South port, 12 km below the railway bridge , 15 km above the Kazan port , 777 km of the Volga M7 highway .
It was built by Bridge Detachment No. 3 in Volgomost in 1981–89 [2] .
History
Construction began in 1981 . The first stage included the bridge itself and sections of the future M-7 highway - to the Volga - an overpass to Ulyanovsk and the interchange at Naberezhnye Morkvasha, and beyond the Volga - a bridge over the railway to Zaimishche and the interchange in Zalesnoye.
In 2011, the asphalt surface on the bridge changed, while the movement of vehicles did not stop [3] . Another bridge repair was carried out in the summer of 2016 [4] .
