History
The OLX brand was founded in March 2006 by two French entrepreneurs - Fabrice Grinda and Alejandro Oksenfordo. OLX began to work actively with India: at that time, it was one of the most dynamic markets in the world. In 2007, the company entered the Russian-speaking market. In 2010, OLX became part of the Naspers media group . In 2012, Martin Shipbauer (current CEO of OLX Group) joins the OLX team.
In March 2013, the Russian version of the site merged with Avito.ru . [2]
In April 2014, the Naspers ad sites in Romania, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Hungary and Poland changed their name to OLX. And in September of the same year, the Ukrainian site of ads Slando.ua joined the OLX Group network. [3]
In March 2015, the Torg.com Uzbekistan classifieds website also became OLX. [four]
Service and Features
The site provides a platform for online purchase / sale of goods and services to both individuals and business representatives. OLX users can post their ads by pre-registering with their mobile phone, email, or log in through social networks. In the submission form, you must add a description of the proposal, photos and your contact information. It is also possible to respond to an already published ad by contacting its author via online chat on the website or by phone number.
By default, OLX ads are displayed by their placement date. To promote ads, there are a number of paid services: "VIP-ad", "Top-ad", "Raise up the list", "Logo in the list of ads for 30 days."
Professional sellers can open their own OLX store - for this you need to create and fill out the business page of your company. This is a personal page with a name link ( subdomain based on the OLX domain ), logo, banner, contact information, company name, tab with a description of the company and a list of placements.
In addition to websites, OLX applications for iOS and Android platforms have been developed. The functionality of the application allows users to view their profile, add ads, upload photos directly from a smartphone, write and reply to messages, call the seller and more.
History of development in different countries
Russia

Kazakhstan
In Kazakhstan, OLX appeared in 2014 as a result of rebranding of the Slando.kz announcement site. The changes affected only the name and logo, and all the functionality and design of the site remained the same. [7]

The project was implemented jointly with partners UAPAY and Nova Poshta. In the first year of operation, 1.8 million deliveries were made throughout the country. [13] Analogs of the service operate on such global platforms as Ali Express , Amazon and eBay .
