Title
The name of the village consists of the Bashkir words "yar" - the shore and Bishkadak - the patrimonial unit of the Teltim-Yurmatinsky aimak (later volost) of the Yurmatinsky volost [2] . Thus, the name denoted Bishkadak residents living on the banks of the Belaya River , in contrast to the forest ones - Urman-Bishkadak ("Urman" in the translation forest).
The people have several legends about the origin of the name of the village. One of them tells about the five ( Bashk. "Bish" ) first Cossack ( Bashk. "Ҡаҙаҡ" ) families who subsequently built their homes off the coast ( Bashk. "Yar" ) of the Belaya River ( Bashk. "Aғiҙel" ). The second speaks of one family, which during the construction of the house did not have enough five nails ( Bashk. "Ҙаҙаҡ" ).
Before the revolution, this village was called Bishkadak-Smakovo. Most likely the name Smakovo comes from an unknown to us name of the first settler of the village.
History
The document for 1757 mentions:
"Ufa County, Nagai Road, Yurmatinsky Volost, team of foreman Polat Zilikeev, Teltim Aimaku, Bashkir Buragul Umirzakov and others, Bishkazakov clan Syuyargul Karashaev." Thus, it can be argued that Bishkadak belongs to the Teltim-Yurmatynsky aimak [4] .
In 1770, an expedition led by academician Lepokhin found asphalt near the village of Yarbishkadak. The academician wrote in his work "Diary notes of the journey of the doctor of the Academy of Sciences of Adjutant Ivan Lepekhin to different provinces of the Russian state":
“Our curiosity at this place was aggravated by a small key, on which, digging up the earth, we attacked a spring consisting of mountain oil. He dug up a depth near the arshin, and reached their very source. One oil emitted from itself a vein with a thickness of a little a quarter. Further, it didn’t get the place to dig our forces, and at the same time it didn’t endure in order to live long here. Five versts from the place, opposite the Bashkir village of Bish-Kadak, in the very middle of the Belaya River, there was thick asphalt flowing into the Belaya River. From which without conclusion it can be concluded that labor and dependency will not be lost if these places are properly designed to be ordered. ”
Since the foundation of the village, residents have been engaged in cattle breeding, beekeeping, and agriculture. So, in 1839, there were 400 horses, 342 cows, 25 sheep, 104 goats in 20 yards .
A certain role in the economy of the inhabitants, which owned 180 hives, was played by beekeeping. Agriculture made a noticeable step in this village - 8 pounds of winter and spring bread were sown on each of 142 inhabitants [4] .
In 1912, a mosque was recorded in the village. Mulla - Timirgaly Timirkhazikov [5] .
