Content
Story
An influential businessman, millionaire Anthony Ferfax, is suffering from a serious illness. With the help of Dr. Jones, he performed a heart transplant operation taken from his brother. Paul Ferfax is a young rake who was impatiently awaiting the death of Anthony, the only legitimate heir to a huge fortune. His heart was genetically most suitable for transplantation, and on the advice of doctors, Anthony Ferfax agreed to a double murder - Paul and a certain Mr. Jackson, who was supposed to play the role of a donor.
Russell Jones, Dr. Ferfax, his young wife’s lover, receives an annual substantial research subsidy. Fearing that with the death of Anthony, payments will also cease, he wants to receive several hundred thousand pounds and go abroad. For greater confidence in success, he goes to deception and tells Ferfax about the practical completion of his work to create an artificial heart.
On the trail of the criminals, with the help of Jones's former mistress, the experienced inspector Percy Gallet appointed by the ministry came out. He organized house surveillance, waited for Jones to arrive, and was about to arrest both of them. Ferfax kills Jones, and his people kill Gallet. Evening news reported the culpability of all the murders of Dr. Russell Jones, allegedly suffering from manic psychosis.
