Biography
In the years 1899-1900. in China, their étuan rebellion took place, during which many Christians suffered. Maria An Linghua was arrested by rebel boxers on July 11, 1900 for professing Christianity, along with her grandmother Anna An Xin and relatives of Maria An Guo , Anna An Jiao . They were required, under threat of death, to abandon their faith. The arrested women remained loyal to Christianity and for this they were taken outside the village and executed.
Praise
Mary An Linghua was beatified on April 17, 1955 by Pope Pius XII and canonized on October 1, 2000 by Pope John Paul II, along with a group of 120 Chinese martyrs .
