Jumada as-sani ( Arabic. جمادى الثاني - Jumada II) or Jumada al-Ahira ( Arabic جمادى الآخرة - Jumada last) is the sixth month of the Muslim calendar .
The Arabic word Jumada is used to mean dry, dry land. Jumada al-ulya and the following month Jumada-asi Sani in Arabia were considered the driest months.
The Islamic calendar is lunar , and the months begin when they saw the first crescent of the new moon. Since the Islamic lunar calendar year is 10-11 days shorter than the solar year, the date of Jumad al-Sani changes.
