Hypoxemia (from other Greek. Ὑπο- - prefix with a value of weakened quality, novolat. Oxygenium - oxygen and other Greek. Αἷμα - blood) - is a decrease in oxygen content in the blood due to various reasons, including circulatory disorders, increased tissue demand for oxygen (excessive muscle load, etc.), decrease in gas exchange in the lungs during their diseases, decrease in hemoglobin in the blood (for example, in case of anemia ), decrease in the partial pressure of oxygen in the inhaled air ( altitude sickness ) and others. With hypoxemia, the partial pressure of oxygen in arterial blood (PaO 2 ) is less than 60 mm RT. Art., saturation below 90%. Hypoxemia is one of the causes of hypoxia [1] [2] .
