Enchanted Castle is a film directed by Roger Corman , shot in 1963 based on the works of Howard Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe (in fact, only a small quote was used from the works of Poe at the end of the film, added, according to the director’s interview, at the request of the producers to maintain the visibility of the popular movie franchises based on the writer's works).

Story
The end of the XVIII century , Arkham . Residents of the city burn the local rich Joseph Joseph Curwin, who conducted ominous experiments in his castle. However, before death, he curses his executioners and their offspring. After 110 years, the successor of Kerwin, Charles Dexter Ward, and his wife Ann arrive in the city. The townspeople meet him with hostility. In addition, there are a lot of mutants. However, despite all this, Ward decides to inspect his new property. Here he unexpectedly meets the keeper Simon Orne, who, as it turned out, was waiting for Charles.
The new owner of the castle learns from Dr. Willeth that Kerwin owned a copy of the Necronomicon , with the help of which he wanted to summon Cthulhu and Yog-Sothoth to this world. Meanwhile, the sorcerer decides to use the body of his descendant to return to this world. Now, Kerwin’s goal is revenge on the descendants of his killers. To do this, he attracts a demon from another world. However, since Charles Anne's wife opposes Ward's transformation into Kerwin, the warlock is trying to resurrect the woman he had lusted during his life - Hester Tillingast. In the end, he succeeds.
Anne, accompanied by Dr. Willlet, is trying to find her husband, but the transformation has almost happened. Now the warlock intends to sacrifice them. However, the inhabitants of Arkham decide to burn the castle. In the fire, an old portrait dies, through which the connection of Kerwin and Ward was carried out. Charles, who became himself, frees his wife, and the doctor helps him and the woman get out of the burning castle.
