The Order of Kim Il Sung ( cor. 김일성 훈장 ) is the highest state award of the DPRK [1] .

History
It was established for the sixtieth birthday of Kim Il Sung (that is, even during his lifetime), in 1972 , at the suggestion of Kim Jong Il simultaneously with the Kimirsen Prize. [2] [3]
Kim Jong Il himself was awarded this order three times: in 1978 , 1982 and 1992 .
The order is also awarded to institutions and organizations, in particular, educational institutions: Kim Il Sung University [4] , Secondary School No. 1 of the Moranbon District of Pyongyang [5] , as well as manufacturing enterprises, such as the Pyongyang Textile Machine Plant . [6]
