Goals of the Olympiad
The All-Russian Biological Olympiad of schoolchildren is aimed at identifying and developing creative abilities and interest in scientific activity among students of general educational institutions, creating the necessary conditions to support gifted children, promoting scientific knowledge, creating the conditions for realizing the opportunities of the best students and teachers, for fruitful, creative communication. The Olympiad is aimed not at competition, but at creative, fruitful communication, the acquisition of new knowledge, their consolidation, the fundamentalization of knowledge. Communication is a very important aspect of the Olympiad.
History of the Olympiad
The first Olympiads were held in individual schools and cities. Since 1950, the Moscow Biological Olympiad began to organize the biological and soil faculty of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov . Its popularity outgrew the borders of Moscow , attracting participants from different regions of the USSR . The winners and prize winners of the Olympiad were such well-known biologists, as, for example, P.P. Vtorov , A.S. Kondrashov , E.V. Kunin and others.
The first All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren in biology, according to the order of the Ministry of Education of the RSFSR, was held in 1979 in Barnaul . Among the organizers of this Olympiad was the famous methodologist-biologist D.I. Treitak. The first Olympiads were held once every 2 years. However, starting from the seventh Olympiad in 1991 they are held annually. In 1990, the first All-Union School Biology Olympiad was held in Batumi, the second such Olympiad was held in the spring of 1991 in Chelyabinsk. The third All-Union Olympiad was scheduled for the spring of 1992. It was supposed to be held in Dnepropetrovsk, but after the collapse of the USSR, the All-Union School Olympiads ceased to be organized. Stages of the Olympics
According to the Regulation on the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, the All-Russian Biological Olympiad is held in 4 stages: [7]
- school - organized by educational institutions; held in October-November; students of 7-11 grades of educational institutions can take part in it; carried out on assignments developed by the subject-methodological commissions of the municipal stage of the Olympics;
- municipal - organized by local authorities in the field of education; held in November - December; students in grades 7-11 of educational institutions who have become winners and prize winners of the previous stage can take part in it; carried out on assignments developed by the subject-methodological commissions of the regional stage of the Olympics;
- regional - organized by state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in the field of education; held in January - February; students in grades 9-11 of educational institutions who have become winners and prize winners of the previous stage can take part in it; conducted according to the olympiad tasks developed by the central subject-methodological commission of the Olympiad
- final - organized by the Federal Agency for Education; held in April; In addition to the winners and prize-winners of the previous stage of the Olympiad, the winners and prize-winners of the final stage of last year take part in the final stage, if they are still studying at educational institutions.
According to the Regulation, winners and prize-winners are determined on the basis of the results of participants in the respective stages of the Olympiad. Winners and medalists of the school stage who scored more than half of the maximum points are allowed to participate in the municipal stage, winners and medalists of the municipal stage in the regional stage, participants in the regional stage who have shown results of at least a passing score are allowed to participate in the final stage.
Pass score
It has been installed since 2011 to enter the final stage. It becomes known in March after processing all the results of the regional stage and is necessary to equalize the conditions for getting to the final stage. Until 2011, getting to the final stage was carried out according to the status of the participant in the Olympiad (most often a βwinnerβ, sometimes the best of the βwinnersβ).
