The venerable Charles Avery Dunning ( Eng. Charles Avery Dunning , July 31, 1885 in Croft ( Leicestershire , England ) - October 2, 1958 in Montreal ( Quebec )) is a Canadian politician . He was the Prime Minister of Saskatchewan from April 5, 1922 to February 26, 1926 and the Minister of Finance in the Cabinet of Canada .

Born in Croft, in Leicestershire ( England ). All his life known as Charlie, he came to Canada on the advice of a friend, being a 17-year-old metallurgical worker, and became an agricultural worker. Realizing that he had not moved to Canada for nothing, he convinced his family to also move to the east of Central Saskatchewan . Dunning filed for registration of the estate in Beaverdale County, west of Yorkton.
