History
It was commissioned in 1925 [1] . The village and station Yanov gave rise to the city of Pripyat .
Before the Chernobyl accident, the station belonged to the South-Western Railway . Passenger and cargo work was carried out at the station, access roads of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, warehouses of ODS, an oil depot and other enterprises of the city of Pripyat adjoined. After the accident, the station was closed to passenger traffic.
Yanov Station is part of the transport complex of the state-owned enterprise Chernobylservice.
At the station there is one main, three pick-up tracks and several tracks for the accumulation of rolling stock. There are devices for performing cargo operations, adjoining access roads of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and SNF .
At the intersection of the western neck of the station, water supply devices for steam locomotives (locomotive column) were preserved.
During the reconstruction of the Chernigov-Yanov railway section to provide services to Chernobyl personnel and contractors in 1986-1987, the Yanov station and the section from Yanova to Slavutich were electrified. At the moment, the contact network is not used and partially dismantled at the station itself and on the Yanov- Semikhody line .
Currently, one of the paths passing through the station has been reconstructed and used to provide construction work for the construction of Shelter-2 , a new sarcophagus for the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
