Romanovsky bridge

Zelenodolsky Railway Bridge (Romanovsky Bridge, Red Bridge, Sviyazhsky Bridge [1] ) is a railway bridge over the Volga between Zelenodolsk and the village of Lower Vyazovye .

It is located on 754 km of the Sviyazhsk - Green Dol section of the Kanash - Agryz section of the Gorky railway . At 1273 km p. Volga, counting from the Moscow South Port .

The first one, the Romanovsky Bridge, was built in 1910-1913 under the project of Ing. Belelyubsky N.A. and Pshenitsky A.P.

The length of the bridge is 1063.2 m (scheme 18.2 + 55 + 6 × 158.4 + 39.6 m).

Metal semi-parabolic flying structures (trusses) with riding to the bottom.

The height of the navigation span: 21.2 m - from the design level, 17.2 m - from the normal support, 13.1 m - from the calculated level.

Since September 2005, UFSK “Most” has been carrying out work on the overhaul of the bridge, built in 1913, with the replacement of span structures; in May 2011, the reconstruction was completed [2] .

  • September 1909 - bidding for the delivery of work on the installation of bridge pillars for the railway bridge.
  • March 26, 1910 - Nicholas II assigns the name of the future bridge - “Romanovsky”.
  • The end of May 1910 - the work of the commission in Nizhny Vyazovykh on the choice of a construction site.
  • August - September 1910 - the beginning of the preparatory work.
  • February 13, 1911 - the official opening of construction works.
  • November 22, 1911 - an accident on the construction of the bridge due to the movement of ice (presumably up to 200 dead).
  • April 4, 1912 - erosion of the upper and lower protective dams at the bridge construction.
  • April 20, 1912 - the fall of the bridge farm.
  • May 25, 1913 - tests of the bridge, the beginning of the movement.
  • July 11, 1913 - the official opening of the movement on the Romanovsky Bridge.

Bridge History

  • August-September 1918 - in the area of ​​the bridge during the Civil War there were battles between white and red.
  • Spring 1921 - the beginning of the repair of the Romanovsky (Red) bridge.
  • In 1950 - 1952, a second bridge was built downstream near the current Mostotryad No. 1 of Mostotrest; the opening movement on it took place in January 1957 (even direction, distilled Green Dol - Sviyazhsk ).
  • 2006–2011 - Replacement of the span of the old bridge. It was decided to save one of the spans of the bridge and build a monument to it from it, but this did not happen. The last pre-revolutionary flight was savagely destroyed in the summer of 2011, and for the monument, officials suggested counting its small fragments [3] .
