Symbolism Description and Coat of Arms History
In March 1995, the city emblem was approved by a commission under the administration of the city of Polar Dawns. The city was formed in 1968 as a village of nuclear power engineers. Apparently, therefore, in his name there is a word - dawns, that is, light, glow. In the newspaper “ Murmansk Bulletin ” dated March 29, 1995, the initial version of the coat of arms described by the artist Igor Alexandrovich Grustnev was described in such a way: a blue-red rectangle that depicts white hills, the northern lights , the atom’s icon and the words “Polar Dawns”. Later, the coat of arms was finalized by Konstantin Mochenov , " Union of Heraldists of Russia ."
On August 22, 2006 by decision No. 67 of the Council of Deputies of the City of Polar Dawns “On Approval of the Regulation on the coat of arms of the municipality“ City of Polar Dawns with jurisdictional territory ” [1] the official description of the coat of arms was approved:
“There are three mountains in the azure field (the middle one is higher), accompanied by the top with numerous abstract rays of the northern lights of different lengths, directed obliquely to the right and left; below - by the disk of the nucleus of an atom surrounded by four elliptical orbits of electrons . The mountains are silver, all other figures and the coat of arms are gold. ”
In the course of preparing documents for registering the coat of arms with the Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation , on March 28, 2007, by decision No. 126, the Council of Deputies of the city made amendments and additions to the Regulation “On the coat of arms of the municipality of the city of Polyarnye Zori with jurisdictional territory” of the Murmansk Region. The coat of arms description has become more heraldic, justification of the coat of arms symbols has been added. [2]
The coat of arms of the municipality, the city of Polyarnye Zori, with jurisdictional territory, is entered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation with the assignment of registration number 3290.
