History
Date of establishment not established. Presumably founded at the beginning of the 20th century. According to the Memorial Book of the Astrakhan Province for 1914, Andreev Farm belonged to the Zavetninsky Volost of the Chernoyarsk Uyezd of the Astrakhan Province , there were 57,200 households in the farm, 190 male and 150 female souls lived [2] .
In 1920, the farm, like other settlements in the western part of the Chernoyarsk district, was included in the Kalmyk Autonomous Region , in 1925 it was transferred to the Salsky District of the North Caucasus Region [3] .
According to the 1926 census, 367 people lived in the Andreev Kichkinsky village council, of which 18 were Great Russians and 175 were Ukrainians [4] .
Physico-geographical characteristics
The village is located in dry steppes within the western slope of the Ergeninsky Upland, belonging to the East European Plain, on the Amta River (most of the farm is located on the left bank of the river), between the village of Kichkino and the administrative border with the Republic of Kalmykia , at an altitude of about 95 meters above the level seas. The terrain is hilly-flat [5] . Soils are light chestnut solonetzic and solonchak soils [6] .
By road, the distance to the regional center of Rostov-on-Don is 450 km, to the district center of the village of Zavetnoye - 24 km, to the administrative center of the rural settlement of the village of Kichkino - 9 km [7] .
The village, as well as the entire Zavetinsky region, is characterized by a continental , arid climate, with hot summers and relatively cold and low snowy winters (according to the Köppen – Dfa climate classification ).
