Upper Utchan

Upper Utchan is a village in the Alnash district of Udmurtia , part of the Romashkinskoye rural settlement . It is located 6 km west of the village of Alnashi and 90 km southwest of Izhevsk .

The population as of January 1, 2008 is 188 people [1] .

History

In 1914, the inhabitants of the village of Upper Utchan (Karil) of the Elabuga district of the Vyatka province were listed as parishioners of the Holy Trinity Church in the village of Alnashi [2] .

In 1921, in connection with the formation of the Votka Autonomous Region , the village was transferred to the Mozhginsky district . In 1924, when the village councils were enlarged, it became part of the Ascension village council of the Alnash volost, and in 1925 it was transferred to the Staroutchansky village council [3] . In 1929, the county-volost administrative division was abolished and the village was included in the Alnash district [4] . In the same year, in the village of Upper Utchan, an agricultural cartel (collective farm) “Valce Kuzhym” was formed [5] .

In 1950, agricultural cartels were consolidated, collective farms of several neighboring villages, including the collective farm of the village of Verkhny Utchan, were merged into one collective farm named after Michurin, the central estate of which is located in the village of Novy Utchan . In April 1958, the collective farm became part of the joint Bolshevik collective farm, with a central estate in the village of Alnashi [5] . In the same year, the village was listed in the Alnash village council [7] .

In 1991, the Alnash village council was divided into the Alnash and Romashkinskiy village councils, the village was transferred to the new village council [8] . On November 16, 2004, the Romashkinskiy village council was transformed into the municipality “Romashkinskoye” and endowed with the status of a rural settlement [9] .
