Story
Autumn of 1944. Adriatic coast of Yugoslavia. Lieutenant Colonel Kalitin receives an order to lead the landing of reconnaissance saboteurs in order to attack the enemy’s fortress.
The fortress is located on the island. There is a small sandy beach, the rest of the coast - almost impregnable cliffs. The island is connected with the mainland by a two-kilometer natural dam. Once there was a monastery, before the war - a fashionable boarding house.
Three artillery batteries, eight towers with coaxial anti-aircraft machine guns, additional machine guns are located on the fortress wall. Around the island a guard boat operates around the clock. The main garrison is located on the mainland, twenty kilometers from the island.
The fortress contains about a hundred people, all of them prominent European scholars who, for various reasons, refused to work for the military. The task of the scout group is to free the prisoners and ensure their evacuation.
The commandant of the garrison, Kalitin’s old acquaintance in the Spanish War, Obersturmbunführer Siegfried Von Erlich, was ready for an attack. It was not possible to pass a dense defense the first time. The forces for the second attack were clearly not enough and the lieutenant colonel decides to enter the fortress with the help of the Yugoslav partisans.
Having replenished the ranks with armed prisoners, scouts made their way to the coast and took up defense, awaiting the arrival of transport aircraft.
The content resembles the film "Guns of the Island of Navaron" 1961
