Arkhangelsk Medical College

Arkhangelsk Medical College is a public autonomous educational institution of secondary vocational education of the Arkhangelsk region, one of the oldest educational institutions in the North-West of Russia. The college also includes the former Severodvinsk Medical School (its branch).

On March 10, 1876 (March 23, in accordance with the new style), permission was received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia to open a medical assistant-veterinary and mid-school in the city of Arkhangelsk . The course of study in schools was determined in 2 years. The first reception - 35 people.

Since 1903, the training has become four years old, general education disciplines have been introduced, the students wore uniform and lived in a dormitory under a strict regime. For 30 years, only men studied at the medical assistant, and since 1907, the training of women was also allowed.

From 1936 to 1950, the educational institution was called “Medical Assistant School”, from 1950 to 1954 - “Medical and Obstetric School”, from 1954 to 1992 - the 1st Arkhangelsk Medical School. In 1992, the school was reorganized into the Arkhangelsk Medical College, which made it possible to prepare students for advanced education programs.

In October 2006, the Arkhangelsk Medical College was ranked among the top 100 secondary vocational schools in Russia; in 2008, it won the Russian competition for the selection of state educational institutions introducing innovative educational programs.

The Arkhangelsk Medical College trains European Standard curriculum specialists in 6 specialties:

• Medical business. Qualification - paramedic .
• Nursing Qualification - a nurse .
• Obstetrics Qualification - midwife .
• Pharmacy Qualification - pharmacist.
• Orthopedic dentistry. Admission to the department 1 time in 3 years.
• Laboratory diagnosis .
